Driving Hope CSR Initiative: Dry Ration Donation
The Classic Car Club of Ceylon launched its ‘Driving Hope’ CSR initiative at our Club Quiz in September 2022, with an objective of raising funds to purchase and provide dry ration packs for families in need especially caused by the impact of the current economic crisis in the country. Thanks to the generous donations by members and well wishers and a contribution by the club as well, we were able to raise over a million rupees to put towards this extremely worthy initiative.
On the 17th of November 2022, club committee members travelled to Nuwara Eliya where we visited two rural schools namely, BD/Mangaikarasi Tamil Vidyalaya, Rendapola, Boragas and Haggala Vidyalaya, Nuwara Eliya as well as a rural orphanage named, Bishop Daniel Thiagarajah Child Care Centre Nuwara Eliya and handed out a total of 190 dry ration packs that would hopefully provide some respite for these deserving children and their families during these trying times.
